This Could Be The Start Of Something New

Mood : confusedconfused  Music : I Can\'t Take My Eyes Off Of You - High School Musical

… It feels so right to be here with you…

So I still have the High School Musical hangover. And I’m glad I’ve watched the TV movie first before watching the stage production. It helped me appreciate the stage version more.

I’ve read somewhere that Trumpet’s production of HSM was going to be a cinch, and that no creativity would be involved since they have the TV movie to work around with. I must say, this is not entirely true. For one thing, the stage version has more songs in it. And the running time was longer. Set and props was good as well.

The basketball scene was good (Get’cha Head In The Game), although the jocks weren’t shooting much hoops (probably because it may miss?!) so they were limited to the passing and dribbling of balls. I especially loved the cafeteria scene (Stick To The Status Quo), noticeably different from the one in the film, but the same intensity of the singing and dancing going on. I like it. The set really looked like a cafeteria. They were able to utilize most parts of the theatre, not just the stage: the side entrances, the aisles, stage down (which was beyond the orchestra).

The actors and actresses were good as well. Gabriella and Sharpay gave a very commendable performance. Troy was good. Although in my opinion they could’ve picked a better actor for it, since the boy’s voice is still unstable (”nagbibinata”). I dunno. Maybe they picked him because the kid is more “marketable”, we all know that Trumpets is very mainstream. But he was a good dancer, I must say.

Overall, it was good, it was fun, very Trumpets.

So I was a good, behaved girl. I composed myself even if HE was a few steps away from me, despite my companions telling me that HE was looking at me. Haha. And then all of a sudden Jeng was beside him asking for an autograph. So what the hell, I went there anyway. Since Jeng was there, would I miss the opportunity? Hehe.

At the car, Jeng was the one freaking out because she met HIM! What is happening in this world?! I’m the one not freaking out when he’s just a few inches away. (Haha I’m moving on!)

It hit me. As for me. This could be the start of something new. :) I’m thinking about doing not-so-new things again, like what I did earlier during the year. I’m so excited of what can happen.

Haha… And for some reason, I didn’t miss the party at Lari’s house, coz it was postponed. Again. So I didn’t miss anything! Yayness! But I’m gonna see Minerva on Friday’s Madadramang Pamilya in the Virgin Labfest. I hope to see my other friends there as well. Can’t wait! :)

Later days!
